Apprentices shall be under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician. Physical effort required may involve climbing, crawling, crouching, and working in cramped quarters. Wiring is frequently color coded for connection purposes. Mechanical ability and finger dexterity is essential. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, below grade in ditches and trenches, or above grade on ladders or from scaffolding. Apprentice work assignments are generally limited to San Joaquin and Calaveras Counties. All apprentices are subject to drug testing.

OVERVIEW:
|
- On The Job Training - Approximately 40 Hours Per Week.
- Related Training - Approximately 200 Hours Per Year.
- Starting Hourly Wage Rate -$22.25 Per Hour (2024).
- Length of Apprenticeship - 5 Years.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
|
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Official Transcript of High School Record
- Proof of Algebra: One full year of High School Algebra with a grade of "C" or better or one semester of College level Algebra with a grade of "C" or better.
- Proof of age.
- Must be physically able to perform work of the trade.

OTHER CONDITIONS:
|
- Transcripts and proofs must be submitted within 2 days of application.
- Normal insurability to operate employer owned vehicles. Normal insurability is defined as the ability to secure insurance coverage without high-risk premium or cancellation.
- Drug testing will be required before placement.
- Candidates will be required to sign a Training Contract repayment plan.
- DMV printout required

QUALIFYING EXAMS:
|
- Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be scheduled to take a WRITTEN TEST.
- Applicants who have a qualifying score on the written test will be scheduled for an ORAL INTERVIEW.
