IMPORTANT MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT
June 3rd Primary Recommendations
The June 3rd Primary is rapidly approaching. Your voice and vote is critically important, and we urge you and your family to discuss the important issues facing all working families this election year.
Below are recommendations by the Alameda County Labor Council, San Joaquin Calaveras Central Labor Council and your Local 595 Committee On Political Action. Please vote, and let your union voice be heard.
"VOTE NO" ON PROPOSITION 98 – Proposition 98 must be defeated to protect public works infrastrcture projects in our state while standing up for renters and the environment.
"VOTE YES" ON PROPOSITION 99 – Proposition 99 will put a provision in the California Constitution that will protect homeowners by prohibiting government from using eminent domain to take a home to transfer to a private developer.
"VOTE YES" ON MEASURE H – Measure H is a temporary parcel tax to benefit the City of Alameda's public schools. If Measure H is passed it will prevent proposed cuts and help to maintain the excellence of the City of Alameda's public schools.
